Privacy
This page describes what information Cater Me handles when a business uses the platform and when a customer places an order through it. It describes the software as it is built today.
Who is responsible
Cater Me is operated by Cater Me (ABN [To be confirmed by Cater Me]). Registered address: [To be confirmed by Cater Me]. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to [email protected].
Information a business provides
- Account details: the name and email address of each person who logs in.
- Business details: the business name, the store addresses, opening hours and the settings that decide how the store takes orders.
- Menu content: categories, items, prices, photos and availability.
- Payment details for payouts: handled by Stripe when the business connects its account. Card and bank details are entered with Stripe and are not stored by Cater Me.
Information collected when an order is placed
- The name, phone number and email address given at checkout.
- The order itself: items, extras, notes, order type and the amount paid.
- For delivery orders, the delivery address, which is passed to the delivery provider so the food can be delivered.
- For table orders, the table the order came from, taken from the code the customer scanned.
Who processes it
The platform runs on service providers that process data on Cater Me’s behalf: Supabase for database and authentication, Vercel for hosting, Stripe for card payments and payouts, Brevo for transactional email, Mapbox for address lookup and geocoding, and DoorDash Drive for deliveries when a store uses it. A store’s orders are visible to that store.
What it is used for
- Taking, preparing and handing over orders.
- Sending the order and delivery emails that belong to that order.
- Showing a business its own orders, customers and takings.
- Keeping the platform working, secure and supported.
Access, correction and retention
A business can see and correct its own account, store, menu and customer records in the portal. Order records are kept so that a business can account for what it sold and so that a customer can be helped after the fact. To ask for a copy of information or for it to be corrected or removed, contact [email protected].
Cookies
The ordering surfaces use the storage needed to keep a cart and a signed-in session working. They are not used to build advertising profiles.
Changes
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes to how information is handled will be communicated to account holders.
